Senior GfK Leader Dr. Gerhard Hausruckinger has reached a mutual agreement with GfK’s Supervisory Board to resign from his office as member of the Management Board responsible for the Consumer Choices sector. After around seven years serving on GfK’s Management Board, Dr. Hausruckinger will be leaving the company.
“On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board I would like to thank Dr. Hausruckinger for the long-standing collaboration as well as his great willingness to take over the responsibility as temporary board spokesman in the difficult situation during the summer of 2016. We always valued him as a colleague. For his personal and professional future we would like to wish him all the best and every success”, said Ralf Klein-Bölting, chairman of the Supervisory Board.
Peter Feld will assume for the interim phase the responsibilities of Dr. Hausruckinger in addition to his role as CEO.
Meanwhile, Christoph D. Erbenich has been appointed as Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer, effective August 1, 2017. In this newly created role, he will align the development of all of GfK’s innovations, gear them towards client-centric solutions and bring these to market readiness. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, he will report to CEO Peter Feld.

Christoph Erbenich has profound expertise in marketing and market research in Fast Moving Consumer Goods, based on his previous management positions at L’Oréal and Procter & Gamble. Moreover, GfK will significantly benefit from his experience in the development and marketing of software and services, which he was responsible for as Chief Marketing Officer at digital maps provider Nokia HERE. In a long career as a Partner at McKinsey & Company, he focused until now on digital transformation and new business model development for consumer durables and tech companies, among others.
