Fiona Fu has been hired as Business Development Director, EMEA at GMO Research, Inc., an online research solution platform based in Asia Pacific. Her role will be to deliver research insights to GMO’s clients and to work on strategy and trend analysis for business development.
Fiona worked for seven years in the luxury retail industry as Business Development Manager, Chinese Consumer for Smythson of Bond Street, where she worked closely with market researchers to analyse consumer trends for brand positioning and product development. Her corporate background means she understands the needs and expectations of the end-users of consumer research, and she will therefore be able to deliver insights that are truly valuable to GMO’s clients.
Takashi Ito, Chief Global Officer of GMO Research, Inc., says: “Fiona’s extensive client-side experience will be invaluable. She is coming to the role from the other side of the research coin – the end-user – so we are excited to see what her fresh perspective can bring.”
Fiona has a bachelor’s degree in Communication Engineering/Information Technology from Tianjin University of Technology and a master’s degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Leicester. Her multicultural background and previous experience in both Europe and Asia make her particularly suited to her new role working across the EMEA region.
